Kerry Burke BVSc, MACVSc, MVS
Kerry graduated from Massey University in 1992 as a mature student - and came to Central Vets for practical experience during her studies - choosing this practice as we had looked after her family's pets. Moving to Auckland she worked with Specialists in a Referral Clinic for 7 years and obtained her Membership in Small Animal Medicine, followed by studies in Emergency & Critical Care. After meeting her partner Brett she moved to Sydney where she worked in a large practice for six years - during which time she had her son Liam and completed her Masters Degree in Medicine and Surgery.
Michael and Robyn made her a partnership offer to join Central Vets so Kerry returned to NZ in 2004. She has a keen interest in all aspects of small animal medicine, dermatology, radiology and ultrasound. She has attended Ultrasound courses in both Australia and New Zealand, and completed a Feline Medicine Course through Sydney University.
When not working, Kerry trail runs with her Hungarian Vizla ‘Zoe’, and enjoys cooking, gardening and spending time with her family. Kerry is partial to good quality chocolate and loves red wine (especially a good Pinot Noir).
"When I returned to NZ from Australia I was blown away by the commitment Central Vets' clients show to their pets - as well as the quality and standard of veterinary care in the practice. I felt immensely honoured to be invited to join the team".
Nicholas Pallin BVSc
Nick started practice here at Central Vet Hospital in 2000 after graduating from Massey University. In 2004 he left New Zealand to travel and work overseas. He spent 2 years working in a large private small animal practice in Hong Kong before taking up a senior veterinary position with the Hong Kong SPCA.
In 2007 Nick took up a partnership offer here at Central Vet Hospital and returned home. Nick has a keen interest in small animal soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery and completed a post graduate course in small animal surgery with Sydney University in 2009.
Nick has three cats called "Genghis", "Rufus" and "Scallywag" and a Jack Russell x Fox Terrier called "Hercules". He is an avid Wellington Phoenix and Arsenal FC supporter and keen mountain biker.
Aaron Ruck BVSC, BSc
Aaron joined the Central Vet Team in 2013 after returning from 7 years in the UK. There he ran a successful clinic in the South of London as well as travelling around Europe. Prior to this he has worked in busy clinics in Lower Hutt and Levin.
He enjoyed working at Central Vets and being back in his home town so naturally jumped at the chance to buy into the partnership in 2014. Aaron is very competent in all aspects of small animal practice and has brought surgical and medical skills learnt abroad to enhance our team.
Outside of work he likes the outdoors and is a keen sportsman who plays club cricket in the summer. In what little spare time is left he tries to take in all the great cafes and restaurants Wellington has to offer. Aaron has recently bought a house locally and knows it is only a matter of time before he is adopted by a stray dog or cat.
